(VN – Minori) Ef – A Fairy Tale Of The Two

Ef: A Fairy Tale of the Two (stylized ef – a fairy tale of the two.) is the overall title of a two-part Japanese adult visual novel series by Minorifor the PC as a DVD. The first game in the series, Ef: The First Tale, was released on December 22, 2006, and the second game, Ef: The Latter Tale, was released on May 30, 2008. The opening video for the game was animated by Makoto Shinkai, and a majority of the music was produced by Tenmon, who has worked in the past with Shinkai and Minori. Female character design was by Naru Nanao of Da Capofame, while male character design was by 2C Galore.

The Gameplay

The gameplay requires little interaction from the player as most of the duration of the game is spent simply reading the text that appears on the screen which represents either dialoguebetween the various characters or the inner thoughts of the protagonist. The player has a chance to assume the role of four protagonists, two in each Ef: The First Tale and Ef: The Latter Tale. Each protagonist is paired with a heroine, and each scenario in the original PC versions of the visual novels includes scenes with sexual content. These scenes are removed or modified in the PlayStation 2 port.

Every so often, the player will come to a point where he or she is given the chance to choose from multiple options. The time between these points is variable and can occur anywhere from a minute too much longer. Gameplay pauses at these points and depending on which choice the player makes, the plot will progress in a specific direction. There are four main plot lines that the player will have the chance to experience, one for each of the heroines in the story. To view all plot lines, the player will have to replay the game multiple times and make different decisions to progress the plot in an alternate direction. The game can end prematurely if the player makes the wrong decisions. When this occurs, the player must go back to a previously saved spot and choose different decisions.

For Ef, Minori attempted to create a movie-like experience, using a lot of animated two-dimensional computer graphics presented from various angles. Instead of presenting the visuals straight-on with a character’s image in the middle of the screen and the character being the main focus, the character images in the Ef series are off-center and appear closer to “event” computer graphics (CGs) in typical visual novels. These types of CGs occur at certain pivotal times in a visual novel’s story and are meant to be artistic and much more detailed than normal visuals.

(VN – 4 Leaf) Katawa Shoujo

Hisao Nakai is a normal high school student, currently in his final year of high school. One day Hisao receives a letter from parties unknown in his locker and waits at the written place for the sender. The person who wrote the letter turns out to be his crush; while speaking to her, he suddenly collapses. He awakes in a hospital bed, and is told by the doctors that the reason he collapsed is due to arrhythmia, a rare heart condition that causes his heartbeat to sometimes become irregular. Due to this, his parents have enrolled him in Yamaku, a school for disabled students of all kinds.

Author’s Foreword

The New Year of 2007 was bound to be business as usual for the /a/ board of 4chan until on 4th of January, Anonymous posted an omake page from the doujin Schuppen Harnische by RAITA of doujin circle Zettai Shoujo, detailing character art for a dating sim he dubbed “Katawa Shoujo.” For reasons we will never know, someone’s genius idea of actually realizing RAITA’s idea of the game caught on like wildfire and soon suggestions ranging from tender love stories to depraved sex fantasies were running amok in the thread. The insane idea of creating an actual original game, based on nothing but a single picture and the sparse ideas RAITA had written in the margins titillated the imaginations of Anonymous so much that people became truly seriousabout the fledgling project.

Soon, there were development forums and for the next months, ideas and suggestions were flying around, with people trying to flesh out their ideas, drawing sample art, writing sample text, trying to control the chaos of dozens of people arguing and bickering about the direction of the game. From there, the most active people began the actual game development as a working group named Four Leaf Studios and the project truly took off in the summer ’07.

The final chapter comes in the year 2012. For five long years Four Leaf Studios toiled on the project, with the eventual release sometimes seeming like it would never come. By the end of 2011, though, the end was in sight and the final push to complete the game began.

On January the 4th, 2012, Katawa Shoujo was released.

Well, actually this vn is quite off season because anime adaption finished airing recently but no matter how good is the anime adaption; I always love original story plot that the vn version could offer. However, one thing I love it from both anime and visual novel is their opening soundtrack “Hacking to The Gate” and “A.R” by Itou Kanako, love them both! Oh, more information this vn is not translated in English but since nitro+ and jlist has do some co’op who knows maybe it’s officially translated in the future. Story Description

The story of Steins;Gate takes place in Akihabara and is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN who has been doing their own research on time travel tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them.

Hello, everyone it’s been two weeks since our last update ~ sorry if we’ve been vacuum for a weeks. Uhm, it’s seems that Tama-chan going to plan her vacation to Hokkaido for skiing so she won’t be bothered by any business including this blog. But indeed we’ve been collected necessary material we need to do posting for awhile.

This time I’m going to share an eroge with title “Fault!!”, for your information Fault!! that we share is firs press release in case you’re searching for Fault!! Ace or Fault!! Finally this is the fifth post for this day, which is mean that this post is the last post for today. Okay, now we’re brought you eroge from Unison Shift Blossom; this eroge will fit you who seek a light story with genre romance-comedy ~ yup as the genre suggest this vn told a story about romance in school-life with slight bit fantasy plot; if you’re vanilla love story fan then this game is recommended  to you (ouch, this pink theme sure hurt my eyes a bit). For your information this eroge actually using most simple kanji grammar and if you used TA you will find the story is quite understand able (at least in my ATLAS dictionary of course). In addition, this eroge has translated in English but I should warn you that translation quality is lil’bit par than the other translation because the using translation engine software to assist the translation of story plot but it tolerate able to read and it’s worth playing and does it make sense cause this game sounds interesting since  i’ve seen some pretty bad translation by machines before. One more thing, we won’t give review for this eroge because we’ve been pretty wear off when we post this vn (no wonder coz this is the fifth one for today) and somehow Tama-chan agree with me instead we’re put overall score for this eroge.

Okay, if Tama has released Sekien no Inganock on this weblog then I’m going to post up another series of that vn; Shikokku no Sharnoth -What a Beautiful Tomorrow-, which is one of my fav from liar-soft lineup. Well, this series has brought England theme at Victoria age. Oh, btw I heard latest series of what a beautiful… lineup; “Shiei no Sona-Nyl -What a beautiful memories-” going to be translated by Amaterasu (awesome!) but still its release time is TBA (well, be patient to wait for it). Another thing that I want to tell you; it’s seems that our vn update sequence is messed up (sorry~!) but we’re still planning to post vn that listed in announcement earlier (so relax).

Story Description

Hello, everyone earlier in this blog we ever discussed about free visual novel maker “reny’p”; however, this time we will discuss another one that called “novelty”.  Some of you might says “meh, reny’p is enough, it’s quite easy to use” (true, if you have slight bit scripting experience). Well, I’m personally would like to use reny’p for creating visual novel (though I’ve never published it over the internet) because I’v get used to the prog however novelty sure add different atmosphere in visual novel making.

What’s Novelty?

Novelty is visual novel maker software (yup same like reny;p) but contrary than other visual novel maker is designed for people without scripting  or programming (thought currently still on beta release but the development is quite promising in the near future).

(VN – Nitro+) Saya No Uta – 沙耶の唄

Hi, everyone this time I’m going to contribute in visual novel section. I’ll post up a visual novel that published by nitro+ in 2003. Hmm, it’s quite old but it has great story line and for nitro+ fan might be want to being nostalgic with this vn; while for the one who hasn’t yet play it, this vn is quite recommended but if your newbie I suggest for you to pick out another title first before you’re going to read this one out coz this vn has guro element.

First hand I’ll let you know people who has bigger part of credits for this articles; first is kpoeira the one who provided dl link of the vn and english patch (as we know that jastUSA establish business relationship with nitro+ and so tlwiki decided to  banished all project related to nitro+ but thanks to him we could dl the patch right now). Second is takajun who provided good review about the vn so you might consider it before trying to dl it. Third is MAD, thanks to him to do some editing to op video so outcome is fabulous.
