Hi, it’s been a while since I shared my last VN in this weblog and right now; I will share you another vintage visual novel that catch my attention recently.
In this post included review and download link as reference; Majikoi review are the courtesy from Yandere Translation as well as for the translation patch, while download link cerdit goes to Kpoeira6. Although I share out download link for this game, please buy this game if you like it, thus I’ll share out getchu link for this VN as well. Okay, shall we begin – here’s the real deal

Plot Summary:
We spent the days among a casual group of friends, not knowing how precious these days were.
The second-year student of the Kawakami Academy, Naoe Yamato, had valuable friends.
Four boys and three girls. They’ve grown up together, doing silly things since they were small.
Many things happened, but they’re all still friends. It’s a comfortable atmosphere.
Two new members join the group, and their world gets even more rowdy.
All the girls in the group know martial arts and have samurai blood.
Don’t lose against the gallant girls, boys.

Review Section:
Story: 9/10
The game is about a group of friends and their school life, with more in-depth story in each of the girl’s route. However, this isn’t an ordinary group of people since the girls are all fighters. The school isn’t ordinary either since battles and fights are permitted, so there’s a lot of action scenes in this game.
The story of this game is awesome. The game will give you laughs, tears, and everything else. It has a very good tempo, and the atmosphere within the game is great. The characters come alive, and every one of them is well-made. All the routes are good with hot battles in each one of them. The best thing in this game is the comedy, and the abundant parodies make the comedy top-notch. The game is really, really long, but the atmosphere is so good that you still want more even after you’re done playing the game.
The only complaint about the story is nothing to write home about and no part of it blows you away. And the battle scenes could have been better.
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are really good. There are more than enough CGs with 90 CGs in the game without counting minor differences within CGs. The standing sprites are well done, with lots of variations for the main characters. Together with the effects, it really brings out the best in this game. I think the art matches the story, and the CGs are placed effectively as well.
Music: 7/10
There are a lot of BGMs in this game (around 50). All the songs were quite good, and none of them got too quiet or loud during the game. There are quite a few really good and memorable songs in there. The only downside is that the vocal songs aren’t that good.
System: 10/10
The perfect Giga system is in place. There’s nothing more you can ask for.
From the title screen, you have tutorial, CG mode, music mode, Hscene recollection, after story, and event selection mode. In-game, you can pretty much change everything. Some things you can change are window mode, text speed, text colors, joypad and key config, volumes, voice on/off for each character, not to stop voice with mouse click, and effect speed.
One complaint I have is that the event mode doesn’t cover all the events. Although, this can be solved by saving during the actual game…
Ero: 7/10
The Hscenes are surprisingly(?) good. Each heroine gets at least 3 scenes, the sub-heroines get 1 scene, and there are a few threesome scenes for a total of 20 scenes in the game. Most of the scenes consist of more than one round and Yamato’s (the protag) ability to ejaculate many, many times is amazing. The scenes are pretty long with good text. The CGs and the voice acting are great as well. Most of the scenes are pretty normal, so don’t expect toys or weird stuff.
Voice: 10/10
This game has an amazing cast of voice actors. I will list what other game/anime each voice actor has been in, and that should be enough to explain how awesome the cast is:

Overall: 9.5/10
This is a great game where everything about it is above average. The comedy is great and the atmosphere is top-notch. The cast of voice actors is amazing, and the parodies created from the cast is funny as well (if you can understand at least some of it).
Recommended for: People who like comedy, people who like school life eroge, people who want ero, and eroge beginners.
Not recommended for: People who don’t want parodies in comedy, people who don’t watch anime or play games, and people who want a deep story.

Answer:
- Um…Here are some reasons may comes1. Download corruptAll my uploads have recovery record inside, when I split into parts, I also put ones too, so both side, Torrent users and Direct Download users can repair it anytime, just open corrupt file with Winrar, then choose Tools → Repair, that is all !2. File System
In some case, you can not extract big files, meaning files that larger than 4GB, 99% is you are using FAT32 for your File System, not NTFS, so convert it
- Hit Windows button + R or Start → Run, type cmd, then enter
- Type convert D: /fs:ntfs, enter it and waiting for this drive D being convert into NTFSNote: This convert command is working fine with Data Drive without losing any data or corrupt, do not try to do same thing for System Drive where your Operating System were installed, I do not know what will happen, because I never try it too !
3. File name:
One more reason, file name itself, try to rename files before extracting, Japanese／Kanji title make files can not extracted if you do not set your PC to Japanese properly…

We’re apologize that we might be said that we would re-upload link for eroge in our web-log but it seems we’ve lost back-up to some of our vn (as they were burned in DVD; and we can’t find it somehow) and might as well back up recent vn from HDD to DVD as we’re facing space crisis.
Conclusion our megaupload link is dead but we can’t re-upload it coz we don’t have back up but we still try our best to search source of the vn and re-upload it to our web-log but it on indefinite hiatus since we can’t promise the exact date of re-upload. May ask contribution and assistance from the visitor to let us know some information regarding designated vn so we can update it.
We might broaden our horizon to filehost that we use so you’d might find other link beside MF, such as: RS, Deposit and/or any other filehost; nowadays we can’t get so picky about filehost as our most reliable MU have been shutdown and Fileserve or Filesonic stopped that their sharing serving. Furthermore we’re even add torrent and magnet url so you guys can dl via p2p ~ we’re consider this is one of best solution to share up huge sum of files and so keep seed the torrent to keep it alive.

So… I installed safely, work runs fine, using AppLocale, but the in-game text (like the dialog etc) is just screwed up. Not all the text is screwed, like the main menu is all fine, but when its like those other text, its goes all weird… >.<
Which one did you install majikoi or majikoi S, DaDon?
As for me; I recommend you to settings language and regional locale in your OS instead of using AppLocale

perhaps the file is corrupt; either you copy the related file from the rom or re-install the vn (this is sucks but I recommend re-install)

It works! I was sweating buckets when it said insert disk 2, when I was like ” Oh i didn’t extract the rom alpha!” Thanks! Oh.. And what translation engine do you recommend? hello i downloaded all of Majikoi torrent through utorrent evrithing is now in zip after this i dont know what to do
1. unzip original game zip
2. after that mount mds or mdf file using daemon tools
3. assuming you’ve setting the language and regional for you OS then follow through steps that I’ve type in the post.
4. unzip update1
5. run update 1 to extract update for majikoi
6. using english patch? then unzip the zip file that you get from yandere
7. copy to your designated majikoi folder.
8. after that run exe file with the files name “majikoi” instead the one that written in kana.

Hi I installed Majikoi S perfectly and it runs smoothly but when I save the game and close it and reopen Majikoi S the saves are no where in the load menu! You can just imagine my frustration when I realized I had gone through 8 hours of gametime only having to start all over again. =W= Is there any way I can actually save the game?
Vexpir, which one di you use when saving? quick save (panel that pop up on the right side) or from save menu near text bar? And also make sure that the save file exist in folder みなとそふと if not then save file not save properly, which explained why there is not save in load menu? (I suggest don’t use quick save).
actually system record history of your playing so you can skip instantly (not skip message but skip event in this case) to the point of unread or unseen event.
I’ve been using the save at the bottom below the text bar. And I downloaded the config.dat and script.dat and placed them with all the other files of the game, i.e. uninstall, the application itself, script.pac, voice.pac, etc. And it still won’t save!
Well, try this:
first go to my documents and delete the files that are in Jap. Then reinstalled. What happened in here probably was a part of saves thing went to another folder which led to you unable to save. Perhaps it’ll work after you reinstall on that computer.

I have played Majikoi for several days now and there haven’t been any problems until recently. Ever since I beat the Wanko route the sound and voices of the game have been ‘static-y’ and distorted. Is there any way to fix this?
perhaps there is a problem with the voice files of this vn? Usually it will work after replacing corrupted files.

Takajun only translating majikoi but there is no group that will translate majikoi s, maybe for now but who knows in the future
Hi. I have a question. I THINK that I installed it correctly but when I tried to play the game, nothing happens. But when I look at the processes in the task manager, it’s right there. Any solutions for this one? Do I have to redownload?

ok so i successfully downloaded the torrent file and now i have all 10 zip files. I already changed my location and the non-unicode programs to japan, restarted my comp but when i try to extract part1 all i get is like 4 files and i dunno how to get the 60 billion files like your install video shows, any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
ah, those files must cd image files so mount the cd image using daemon tools lite

I just finished downloading and I extracted all the files and mounted the image, but when I try to run the setup it doesn’t start and instead says: The program can’t start because d3dx9_35.dll is missing from your computer.
I really don’t want to spend several days downloading this again so if there is an alternative way to fix it please tell me

I’m having a few problems… I don’t know why but I can’t seem to extract the files correctly. When I go to extract them it goes for a few minutes then a pop-up comes up saying that it can’t extract because the file is corrupted. I’ve tried every file at least five times each. Every time the same thing. Is there a specific program I should use to extract? I’m currently using Jzip. If it matters I’m on Windows Vista.
first make sure the file that you’re going to extract exactly has has same amount from the file host so you could confirm whether the file dl properly or not.
then I recommend that you to use winrar to extract the files; I don’t know about jzip because I’m never use that program.

set up the unicode also to support kanji character; if you set up properly then the setup not written in random symbol but it will written in kanji
Hello guys, this is the first time that I downloaded a visual novel and I have a lot of trouble doing it. I do not understand where to download the game. I downloaded the 10 parts in the download section but when I extracted them it says that the 10 parts are the same as the 1st one. So where you guys got all your files and do I need to download other programs such as daemon tools lite to make that game work?

It seems that it was my mistake sorry about that lol, even if my computer said that the folders were the same I was able to install the game by following your steps (Set you OS regional into Japanese localization) was my major problem why I could not install the game. We split one huge file in to 10 parts so you could download it easier one by one (obviously the content will be same because in fact that is one file split into 10 so we could compress and upload it to file host).
After you’ve downloaded whole parts, extract it using winrar via part 1 (no need to extracted all part coz it’s will integrated automatically with other parts; as long as every part downloaded perfectly).
When the rar file extracted, you file see image CD file (usually with extension iso, mdf, mds, etc.. I forgot) use daemon tools (this is best app so far in my opinion) to mount up the CD image.
From here you could install the vn ~ further info how to install look at provided steps and tutorial in this blog from vn tutorial page, this article, or posted comment (vid tutorial).
P.S To download the game get to the link which lead you the megaupload file-host. In there you could choose to dl as regular or premium user (if you have privileges)

do error notification pop-up appears in the mid of the vn? well, I’m rarely face problem regarding voice in majikoi but if so after prologue there is no sound maybe your sound file is corrupted replace from the one that exist in cd image

Then try this – first del all of the patch file that you’ve been copied to majikoi folder and then paste again all of file from the patch.

I can’t find the setup exe. The only file I’m haing questions about is I have a application known as Update.
Another problem is that everytime I run majikoi.exe application, is that it says I need to put in disc 2. What am I supposed to do from there?
err, how come you could run majikoi if you haven’t yet found the setup? You need to install the game via setup – copy paste directly is not recommended.
First thing of – after you extracted rar files – the result will be image file such as iso, img, mdf, etc. mount the file using daemon tools (I think daemon is the best).
Second update1 and update2 has a function so it can read modified files from English patch; and as far as I know it contain reg.dll to as no-DVD patch so you won’t see any notification about put in disc 2
Third, before installing make sure you have sufficient version of direct x, your o/s has installed Japanese Unicode support, and to make sure that regional serial won’t act up, change your regional setting to japan locale

well, we never recommend to use autosave function in vn coz sometimes it’s acting up; please, use save and load from the system instead autosave or quicksave.

The game runs fine and I have installed everything properly….but why is it in Japanese? At least the first texts should be in Enlgis right? (like in those screenshots above)

Umm, Chris do you still remember destination folder that you use when installing the game? If so then that’s the majikoi folder – just copy the patch into that folder and then run the game via majikoi.exe (don’t run from app that written in hiragana).
If you don’t remember maijkoi folder (I don’t know if this necessary) just look at the shortcut in start menu group or desktop – open properties and look at target folder to find out where majikoi folder located

Help! I downloaded all the files and extracted them but when I click on setup.exe it doesnt take me to the setup screen.

In the very first screenshot before Tamaya’s reply there’s the “update.pac” and “update2.pac” files in the majikoi folder. Are those not the files needed from the patch along with the .exe?

There are two alternative ways that I know to makes this game running without cd
1. apply update1 and reg.dll plus English patch that contain update 2
2. if somehow “please insert disc 2″ still appear; I think someone have been put solution about that in the comment; he said to mount disc2.mdf with daemon tools.

umm, it looks like takajun doesn’t has any plan to translate majikoi s. Well, at least until majikoi or aiyoku no eustia translation finished but that just a possibility though.

The main problem exist in megaupload filehost; maybe the server busy at that time or maybe it run a maintenance. Don’t download at rush hour if don’t want to see that notification often!
If you using regular download from every filehost sometimes you’ll see this kind of problem and it happened temporarily.

u mean u were installing and it asked u to insert disc2? . Anyways if it’s is after the installation put all the Majikoi files in the patch folder ( which has the updates )

Alright, figured out my problem. Turns out all the files in megaupload are actually two different sets, with each set containing 2 different files. I assumed disc 1 and disc 2 would be in the same rar package but it turns out they arn’t which is why I got confused
when i run the setup i get an error message saying : This application has failed to start because d3dx9_35.dll was not found. I downloaded from other sources too yet the same error happens?

download it from google but beware which site u download it from(remember to put it in the majikoi folder) or u can just update the directX provided with the installed majikoi , that’s what i did.
Install Direct X 9. It’s right in the cd if you need it.

antivirus sometimes very overprotective toward unrecognized prog. Furthermore, I never heard or read any news that majikoi English patch could infected or make you system error

Looks like you need to mount your file next. Just download Daemon Tools first which you can find on the right side of this page a little bit below where all the galge companies are shown.

Uh just reinstalling the game im guessing unless there was some kind of error when you extracted
Did you download direct x as well? I think you need that. Can find on disk 1 which is where you installed game at
john, make sure these steps:
1. make sure all of rar file part has same size exactly as in file host
2. then un-rar the rar file if the file complete; it should extracted perfectly without any error notification pop-up
in your case a file is missing; there are two probabilities:
1. rar files didn’t extracted perfectly
2. mentioned file is corrupted (but I think this is not the case because if so daemon couldn’t read it)
3. try using latest version of daemon lite and load mdf or iso (iso is better) from the cd image instead mds.

1 all the rar parts were 700 except part 10 which is 168… idk if thats the prob or not but i tried DLing it again but still says 168 as being the rar size
2 when i did the rar extract thing with winrar no errors occurred went smoothly took 10mins and no error icons
3 im using the latest daemon tools and idk anything about iso all i saw was mdf and if i need to convert ill need help ><
4 side note: i think if possible you should make a youtube vid on this cuz sometimes visual aid helps more than txt? plus the vid someone posted in the comments bypasses this step and the vid was using a real copy no less… but thats just a suggestion

it wont be anytime soon…. sadly theres LOTS of story before you choose which is good and funny at a lot of points but you have to finish that before and that took me about 5+ hours to do.
so would it be ideal to “save” at the point before choosing so I don’t have to replay all the initial story? I want to play all the routes but hopefully I don’t start from the very beginning each time ;(

I just installed the game recently and applied the current translation patch… but for some reason, whenever I try to save, the game doesn’t recognize the save and the save slot remains empty, even though the “new” window sign appears.

For example: during the game when I want to save, i go into the save menu and click on one of the empty slots. What happens is, the sound plays, the “new” bubble pops up, but the save file is not created.
After a closer look, it seems something is preventing the save folder (and any save files) from being created. Most likely a windows issue.
Note: Installed the game on my other computer and it works with no issues, same OS and settings.
Does sound like the same problem i had… It worked on another computer for me as well. What i did was first go to my documents and delete the files that are in Jap. Then reinstalled. What happened to me was a part of my saves thing went to another folder which led to me no being able to save. Should work after you reinstall on that computer.

first, from the screenshot, it seems that you’re using windows 7. May I asked what version of windows 7 that you use? if you set it up to Japan locale already; have you try using ntlea or ms.applocale?
second, if japanese language pack has installed properly in your os then the it should support hiragana, katakana, and kanji font of the setup but from what I see in the screen it’s just random symbol of font.
well, I don’t know about you but I’ve installed this vn 4 times without any problem and the os that I use is windows xp sp3 Japanese version.

kamu sudah re-extract ulang file rar-nya? dan sebelum di un-rar coba check apakah file kamu suda mempunyai memory size yang sesuai dengan yang di MU.
Jika sudah coba install lagi terkadang karena perbedaan lokalisasi region install setup sering bermasalah sehingga perlu dicoba lebih dari satu kali.
Oh, baru tahu salahnya di mana…Disc1 sama Disc2 harus di-mount, bukan diextract…

Hentai games are supposed to be sold inside Japan only, so all of the games require Japanese version OS. And so, to play or even to install them you need all the regional settings inside your computer set to Japanese and install east asian language support.
Make sure you set your system locale to Japanese. It’s located in regional setting in your control panel (east asian language support also located in regional setting). For some games, you also need to set your date & time format to Japanese also.
If all those don’t work, you also need to use NTLEA. (Latest version, Ver 0.87 Beta)
To use :
1. Extract the file.
2. Run ntleac.exe
3. Select the .exe file of the game that you want to play
another method though I’m not recommend it: use microsoft applocale to set regional settings temporarily
oh, by the way make sure you have enough hard disk space coz this eroge eat approx. 7 Gb and installation can be halted whenever system found insufficient hd space.
from the screen shot i gave you you can see that i have set my computer to japanese locale and language inside regional section. and i tried the NTLEA and nothing worked same problem, even tried applocle and i get an error from missing files. so… dunno whats wrong. still nothing will translate.
Then the problem is literary as being said “some files are missing”. When you extracted the files, Did the extraction run smoothly without any error pop-up notification? because if it’s the problem is error cause missing file then there is probability that some files not extracted or corrupted.
So my first suggestion, please make sure all of files in full size (same size as in the file host site). Then extracted it once more.
Meanwhile for the font that not translated after change regional setting then try to do these steps:
Start
Control Panel
Clock, Language, Region
Change Keyboards or other input methods
Change keyboards…
Add…
then selected Japanese -> Microsoft IME and this might allowed you to use Japanese.
Actually windows vista and windows 7 includes east asian support in standard installation so usually language problem exist in windows xp user.

ok, everyone go download a windows application called applocal, with this program you can install any program by setting it as the language. No changing your language etc to install games.
yeah, applocale can install any program with any language settings but it’s not recommended because at some point or at some installation case applocale will be inefficient, so the best thing is to install language support in your os

Problem: Lets see just finished unzipping. Now i try to mount. But what comes up is the game install thing. No files seen in my folder
first, make sure the file extracted properly and when you mount the file; it consist of mds, cdi, and iso then change the option file type into all files so it can read those extension.

if you stuck at mdf files, you can use daemon tool lite to mount it, daemon work best for mdf, iso, img files.

if it’s after installation then the problem might be that you haven’t replace the app with the one the patch or you run exe from the original instread from the patch

Im having issues extracting when extracting it gives me a error saying “data error in ‘disk1.mdf’ file is broken” and “data error in ‘disk2.mdf’ file is broken” but it still lets me extract and when i try and run the exe it says your system is uncompatible please get a 64 bit version of this software. my question is are they related and how do i fix it. one more thing can you upload a torrent or some on show me one cause megauploads limits are a pain.

I think I’m agree with spicy_sp your screen shoot showed that you not yet installed japan language support in your OS.
If you’ve installed it; the font appears as hiragana character instead just randomtype symbol
setting in to Japanese localization only effective if you’ve installed Japan language support.

I’ve manage solved it though by running DirectX in applocale first, setting in japanese language then rerun the setup in applocale. Installation successful.

click dari part 1 dan pilih lokasi extract unrar-nya kalo semua partnya lengkap maka winrar nanti akan mengunrar keseluruhan secara otomatis; kemudian untuk menginstall muat mds file dengan daemon tools dan ikuti instruksi penginstallan yang ada.
sebelum menginstall pastikan anda telah menginstal east asian language support di OS anda dan rubah lokalisasi region OS anda jika diperlukan.
setelah proses penginstallan maka anda harus mencopy file non-cd patch yaitu reg.dll dan kemudian mengupdate majikoi anda (link dl file ada di artikel) lalu copy seluruh isi file yang ada di english patch ke folder installan majikoi

I have finished the downloading and unrar-ing. Now i’m setting it up but midway through it keeps popping a box that says some japanese words and also config. How do i solve this problem? I can’t find a way to get the config file over to my game folder and i can’t play it
Acctually youd don’t have to config anything if you’ve set up your windows into Japan localization. but you can send me the screen shoot of your problem so I could figure out the problem?
btw, before you do the instalation have you check your directx version? lately, vn started to require latest version of directx and vga that has pixel shadder 2.0 but I think majikoi still run just fine with directx 9c.
another note: it’s not recomended to use microsoft applocale to install and running this vn

Well i actually found out the insert disc2 problem when i start the exe in the patch though..well in the start the disc 1 was missing the d3dx9_35.dll . Do u use yahoo? chatting like this is’nt convenient

well, that’s right because yandere translation patch contain file update2.pac that could solve some problem in majikoi but I would suggest you for not put update3.pac in your majikoi folder in case you’ve updated the majikoi ver because it’s not complatible with the english patch.

have you put all of file in the english patch to folder? because the english patch contain modified exe file and update2.pac that somehow can fix most of problem. Then after you’ve put it run the eroge directly by execute patched exe (not via shortcut – make new target shortcut after you patched the file).
First I’ll ask you – did you use full instalation size? around 7Gb (if not I suggest you used that kind installation).
Second – have you make sure you set into Japanese localization?
Third – please check in the image cd is there any reg.dll file? if so copy to your majikoi directory. If not, let me know

so far sih belum ada kompalain file corrupt ~ dan yang terakhir sih bukan link english patchnya melainkan link menuju situs yang mengerjakan link patch tersebut.

well, first should install japanese language support in your OS and then changed your localization into Japanese.
after that install the VN just follow its installation step and you’re good to go.

I have a question…
I played the game… i really like it.
Now i’m in May 7, it tell me to select a character, that mean that the game continue?
and depending who i select the ending is diferent?
yup, the game still continue and you’re going to pick the route by selecting the character. Whenever the gauge below the char depleted then you’re getting into that character stoyline
My OS is windows XP and I’m using Daemon Toolite to build in CD image in my PC but I didn’t encounter any problem like that. Because this application didn’t require no-cd patch when I’m installed it. Furthermore, this VN still installed in my PC and I’m still play it without problem at all.
However it would be best if you check these things before installing:
Extracted the file using WinRar would be the best and then installed after you inserted iso. or mds. file with DAEMON tools (so far I think this application is the best and it’s free anyway).
Have you change locale and regional settings of your PC into Japan Locale?
Have install newest directX?
Have you do file checking and pick a right setting for start up tools? (those two included in iso.)
If you still have problem with the VN after do those things. I suggest to find out no cd patch in hongfire forum. Or maybe you could send me screen shot pic of your problem.
NB: Like I said I’m using windows XP and I don’t know if this VN complatible with Windows 7 (although I’m sure this VN acctually works just fine with Windows 7 too)

Hello. I decided that I should play this game and I Installed East Asian Language support for my system (Windows XP SP3) However when I run the installation everything is written with weird symbols instead of japanese. Then when it goes to about 1/3 an error pops out:

What am I supposed to do now? I can only add that every japanese site i enter is properly in japanese, only this installation file has this problem. Please help and thanks in advance.
If you have installed East Asian Language support then things that you should do next is to change your regional settings into Japan localization. why? because majikoi is vn that intended to being sold in Japan only so it might have region restriction for other locale.
